I have a Cricket wireless modem that allows me to receive and send text messages to anywhere, as well as giving me access to the internet. It doesn’t receive calls, though, but I have my cell phone for that. It will probably do that too, with an upgrade to the software.

skype is cool. it lets you call peoplle on normal phones but you need to buy credit for that. other mor if you have freinds on skype and a mic you can chat to them for free. not shaw bout the txting thought.

the closest i’ve seen is if you have a wireless internet card from a cll phone provider w/ voice capability. but then it’s actually a phone, not really a virtual phone or software. of course skype does this, but i don’t believe they have text capability…
